French streetwear brand Drôle de Monsieur is gearing up for the summer season with a release of a ’90s-inspired collection. This time around, the label is collaborating with interior designer Gergei Erdei to bring a unique amalgamation of patterns, objects and fashion to life.

Erdei, a London-based artist and designer of his eponymous interior brand, has always been known for his signature pieces with the designer’s distinctive use of patterns. His work often focuses on illustrations and artisanal decor objects, always inspired by his long love of antique Roman references. Prior to setting up his own label, he worked under Alessandro Michele as a ready-to-wear designer at Gucci. Taking his eye for refined prints, jacquard knits and embroideries, Erdei is revitalizing signature Drôle de Monsieur wardrobe classics for this particular collection.

This limited-edition capsule collaboration revisits the French label’s ’90s-focused leisurewear, including classic track jackets, bowling shirts, and other athleisure wear including printed shorts and hoodies. The collection is reminiscent of the ’80s and ’90s summer resort holidays at Palm Beach, where families spend vacations at the tennis club or golf course. Each of the pieces feature a unique print, inspired by antique mosaics that are often motifs of Erdei’s work. In accessories, the collection features silk scarves, beach towels and cushions.

Look out for the Drôle de Monsieur x Gergei Erdei collection available now online.

In other fashion news, Diesel has entered into an era of simplification for Resort 2024.
