Apple TV+ has finally dropped the first trailer of the highly-anticipated psychological thriller series starring Tom Holland and Amanda Seyfried. Titled The Crowded Room, the series is based on the true crimes of Billy Milligan and is also executive produced by Tom Holland, and created by Academy Award-winning writer and executive producer Akiva Goldsman.

The 10-episode series is set to debut on the streamer early next month and follows Holland’s character, Danny Sullivan, a man who has been arrested for his involvement in a shooting in 1979 at Rockefeller Center in New York City. The captivating thriller sees Seyfried’s character, an interrogator named Rya Goodwin, try to get to the bottom of what happened. As the plot thickens, audiences see Danny’s life story unfold, revealing his past and life-altering moments that affect his future.

The Crowded Room also stars Emmy Rossum, Sasha Lane, Will Chase and Lior Raz along with guest stars Jason Isaacs, Christopher Abbott, Thomas Sadoski and Zachary Golinger. The series is said to be loosely based on Milligan, who was arrested in 1979 for raping three women on the Ohio State campus. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Holland said that after filming the series, he said that the role had a profound effect on his mental health, “I’m no stranger to the physical aspects of the job doing the whole action-movie thing. But the mental aspect, it really beat me up and it took a long time for me to recover afterwards, to sort of get back to reality.” Being a part of the thriller series also caused Holland to be sober for just under a year and a half.

The Crowded Room arrives on Apple TV+ on June 9. Watch the trailer above.
