Brad Pitt Launches New French Riviera-Inspired Gin
The Gardener Gin is Pitt’s two-year project and is set to debut at Cannes.
Brad Pitt continues to expand his ventures in the spirit world. In an exclusive to People, the publication confirmed that the critically acclaimed actor is continuing to establish himself in the beverage industry, previously already making a name in the premium wine and champagne world.
Brad Pitt is set to launch his new French Riviera-inspired gin, The Gardener Gin, at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. In line with the gin’s south of France inspiration, the festival in Cannes seems to be the perfect fit for a launch. The Gardner has quietly teased its release on social media for the past two months. The official account bio reads, “Handcrafted by Brad, Tom and Perrin.” The Perrin family have worked with Pitt for his Miraval wines while Tom Nichol is a master distiller.
Pitt joins the ranks of his fellow actors in the gin industry including the likes of Ryan Reynolds and his Aviation Gin. The Gardener Gin is a London dry-style gin, distilled in France using a wheat base in copper pot stills and an organic botanical mixture of juniper, licorice, coriander and angelica paired with citrust notes from Cap d’Antibes orange, pink grapefruit and lemon. The launch arrives shortly after Pitt announced his own genderless skincare brand. The new gin is Pitt and his partners’ attempt to capture the spirit and terroir of the French Riviera, a part of France that Pitt has long had history with due to his Château Miraval.
For its launch, the spirit will be presented at the re-opening of the Carlton Hotel at Cannes in a form of a special cocktail called the Secret Garden. The Secret Garden hits the U.S. this September.
