Closer Look at Balenciaga's Spring 2024 Sunday Mule
Featuring individually-rounded toes.
Following Balenciaga‘s Spring 2024 presentation, we now get a closer look at the new footwear from the collection. One in particular that stands out is what appears to be a take on Birkenstock‘s Boston Suede Clogs currently referred to as “Sunday Mules.”
While the pairs do not appear to be an official collaboration, Balenciaga’s newest offerings, which are dressed in all-black, are almost identical to the Bostons aside from the Balenciaga branding on the footbed and individually-rounded toes at the front of the shoe. The design continues Balenciaga’s “anatomic” series introduced earlier this year which features Ballerina flats, 80MM Sandals, 80MM Pumps, and 80MM Booties with pronounced “five-finger” shapes at the toe.
Balenciaga’s Spring 24 consists of two chapters: Garde-Robe, which includes refined wardrobe essentials, and seasonal ready-to-wear pieces. Both are said to be “styled for the day-to-day with focused choreography, in as ordinary an act as retrieving a coin from the pavement or zooming by on a skateboard.” Learn more about the Spring 2024 “Capital B” collection here.
