Vivienne Westwood Debuts Historical Corset Exhibition In London
Exploring the brand’s subversion of corsetry since 1987.

Following the passing of Dame Vivienne Westwood earlier this year, the brand led by widower Andreas Kronthaler is honoring the designer’s legacy through a historical exhibition that showcases the house’s subversion of corsetry.
Titled “Vivienne Westwood Corsets – 1987 to Present Day,” the installation is set to debut during London Craft Week in May and reflects the British label’s impact on fashion history. The presentation explores Westwood’s innovative approach to lingerie and undergarments, demonstrating the designer’s consistent sources of inspiration while digging through her extensive corset records.
The exhibition will host several Vivienne Westwood runway looks dating back to 1987, examining the founder’s evolution in corset design alongside Kronthaler’s modern iterations.
To accompany the exhibition, the brand has crafted an exclusive jewelry collection that features charms modeled after Westwood’s archival designs. The accessories don 3D pendants of Westwood’s “Portrait” corset, offered across gold and pearl-plated necklaces, bracelets, and earrings. The jewelry is available at Vivienne Westwood boutiques in London, Manchester, and Cardiff.
The “Vivienne Westwood Corsets – 1987 to Present Day” exhibition will be open from May 8-21 at the brand’s London store.
Elsewhere, Valentino Vintage opens swap-shops in London, Milan, Paris, and Further Afield.
