UFC star Conor McGregor had some words for the young Ryan Garcia post-fight against Gervonta Davis.

28-year-old Davis emerged as the winner after a body shot that dropped Garcia, age 24, to his knees in the seventh round. The fight was set at a catchweight of 136 lbs, however, the contract included a 10 lb rehydration clause. While both did not exceed the limit and were bot under 145 lb, McGregor wants the stipulation removed so that the fighters can run it back with no clause.

McGregor took time after the fight to visit Garcia in the dressing room after his loss. He told the young fighter, “He’s 1-0 on you, you are the two biggest names in the division. I wanna see it again.” He added, “I want to see it again now and I want to see it with no rehydration clause. I’m serious.” He ended off his speech to Garcia with great praise, “All the respect in the world to you. You’re the future. You’re the future of this game and I will be watching you all the way.”

Garcia was knocked onto his feet by Davis’ left hand in round two. While he was able to get up, his fate was sealed in round seven when Davis delivered a liver shot. After the fight, Garcia spoke out and said, “Obviously I’m disappointed after the fight. Tried my best, and he caught me with a good body shot.” He continued, “I’ll come back stronger and yeah man, hopefully, one day rack up a couple of wins and we can do a rematch, maybe at 140 or 147. But thank you, guys, for all the support, love you guys.”

In case you missed it, last week, the Toronto Raptors fired Nick Nurse as head coach.
