In a fitting New York collaboration, iconic sneaker imprint Ewing Athletics has come together with Brooklyn-based honey brand Mike’s Hot Honey for a limited edition sneaker release. Taking on the Sport Lite from Ewing Athletics, the brand’s first cross-training shoe, originally introduced back in 1993, has been given a themed makeover to become the “Hot Honey Sport Lite.”

Standing as America’s leading brand of hot honey, Mike’s Hot Honey was founded in 2010 by Mike Kurtz, who was fueled by a desire to create and share the highest quality honey infused with chili peppers. Starting by drizzling the signature hot honey on pizzas at the Brooklyn pizzeria where he worked, customers eventually began to ask if they could buy bottles to take home. The meteoric rise driven by word-of-mouth has now landed Mike’s Hot Honey on restaurant menus and retailers across the United States.

Mike’s Hot Honey x Ewing Athletics Sport Lite features premium white leather uppers accented by burgundy suede, expressing an ode to founder Mike Kurtz’s high school (Amherst Regional) and college (UMass) colors, also the colors of Mike’s Hot Honey. Detailing on the shoe includes Mike’s Hot Honey bee embroidered on the heel, tongue tags, New York Knicks Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing’s signature on the midsole, and co-branding printed insoles. Finally, paired with the sculpted white midsoles are the gum rubber outsoles that represent the wildflower honey used in Mike’s signature recipe.

Each pair of Mike’s Hot Honey x Ewing Athletics Sport Lite comes in special packaging with alternate burgundy laces and an actual jar of Mike’s Hot Honey.

Mike’s Hot Honey x Ewing Athletics Sport Lite will be available in limited quantities starting April 14 exclusively on Ewing Athletics and Mike’s Hot Honey’s websites.
