Marvel’s New Running App Employs Wolverine and Thor To Yell at You for Motivation
Taking runners along on the characters’ adventures.
Marvel’s latest gaming venture is a fitness app no one quite expected. Created by Six to Start, the creator of Zombies, Run!, the audio-based app is designed for fans to take their workouts to the next level with the help of characters like Wolverine, Thor, Loki and Hulk.
The app is called Marvel Move and is described as an “interactive fitness adventure.” Users are essentially able to choose a Marvel story narrated by one of the studio’s iconic characters. During their run, they’ll also have motivational lines shouted at them.
Adding to the experience is a kind of simulation positing the user as a real-life Marvel character. The app will track how far they run away from enemy threats and their overall progress throughout the journey. Users can team up with friends to run virtual 5K or 10K races.
Expected to launch this summer, Marvel Move membership is priced at $74.99 USD per year, with new users receiving their first month free.
