Al Pacino Could Have Starred in 'Star Wars'
Noting that it happened early on in his career.
Al Pacino has revealed that he previously turned down the chance to be in George Lucas‘ Star Wars.
According to Variety, the esteemed actor revealed in a talk at The 92nd Street Y in New York that he said no to the role of Han Solo very early on in his career. “Well, I turned down ‘Star Wars.’ When I first came up, I was the new kid on the block, you know what happens when you first become famous. It’s like, ‘Give it to Al.’ They’d give me Queen Elizabeth to play,” Pacino said.
“They gave me a script called ‘Star Wars.’ … They offered me so much money. I don’t understand it. I read it. … So I said I couldn’t do it. I gave Harrison Ford a career,” he added, referring to the fact that Ford’s portrayal of Solo shot him to the mainstream.
Elsewhere in entertainment, the God of War and Horizon series adaptations will follow a model similar to The Last of Us.
