Frank Ocean Gives New Album Update at Coachella
“It’s been so long, but I have missed you. I wanna talk about why I’m here.”

Frank Ocean confirmed that a new album is on the way during his headline performance at Coachella festival on April 16, although fans now believe that it could be a while until it is officially released.
Taking to the stage on Saturday night, the performance was originally planned to be live-streamed, however, it was controversially canceled at the last minute. But, during his show, Ocean responded to fan speculation that his return to the stage after nearly six years meant that new music would be on the way.
Speaking to the crowd during his performance, Ocean said: “It’s been so long, but I have missed you. I wanna talk about why I’m here, ‘cos it’s not because of a new album — not that there’s not a new album — but there’s not right now.
“These last couple of years, my life changed so much and my brother and I came to this festival a lot. I feel like I was dragged out here half the time. We were just dancing in that tent to that music and I know he would have been so excited to be here with all of us and I wanted to say thank you for all the support and the love.”
Frank Ocean’s performance also started an hour later than planned, with Ocean making his album speech five songs into the performance, following live renditions of “Novacane,” “Come On World, You Can’t Go!,” “Crack Rock,” “Bad Religion,” and “White Ferrari.”

Since the release of Ocean’s latest album Blonde, fans have been starved of Frank Ocean material. And while the singer-songwriter has shared several one-off singles including “In My Room,” “Cayendo,” and “Dear April, a full-length project has yet to come to light.
