adidas Celebrates Earth Day With the Stan Smith and Superstar
Utilizing a soft hemp upper on each.

When it comes to sustainability, the annual celebration of Earth Day serves as a key time to bring the topic to center stage. Each year, brands showcase their various initiatives for the holiday. In the past, adidas has taken advantage of this opportunity by teaming up with the MLS and Parley for limited edition eco-friendly kits. This time around, it has brought a hemp construction to two of its classic silhouettes.
Taking on the Superstar and Stan Smith with this environmentally-conscious approach, both shoes have been outfitted with a soft brown upper. With the Superstar, its monochromatic makeover is broken up by crochet-inspired detailing at the Three Stripes in shades of white, yellow, green and maroon that pay tribute to ’70s counterculture. This detailing similarly appears on the Stan Smith, adorning the heel tab. Lastly, both pairs feature organic cotton laces to complete the natural look.
As of now, no stateside release information regarding adidas’ Earth Day celebration on the Stan Smith and Superstar has been disclosed. Pairs have popped up via the Three Stripes’ regional storefronts with an expected launch in the US in the coming weeks via adidas.
