The World's Most Advanced Spatial Audio Event Is Launching in London Next Month
Hosted by Amsterdam-based 4DSOUND in collaboration with 33-33.

The world’s most advanced spatial audio sound system will be debuting in London next month.
Working in collaboration with 33-33, Amsterdam-based sound studio 4DSOUND will be debuting the immersive experience for a month, with a series of events being held at new London venue, Stone Nest, from April 21 to May 21.
The month-long event will host daily experimental shows by musicians and composers including Kali Malone, Max Cooper, Oren Ambarchi, Grand River and NikNak, while showcases of exclusive compositions, using the new spatial audio system, by the likes of Thomas Ankersmit and Bendik Giske will also be shown.
Furthermore the event will include a series of open workshops with UK-based composers, producers and artists being invited to experiment with the new system. A large-scale grid of 4DSOUND speakers will be installed throughout Stone Nest, allowing the audience to be surrounded by sound from all angles.
Commenting on the launch of the new experience, Poul Holleman, 4DSOUND’s director, said: “For a decade we have been developing what we like to call spatial sound instruments; site-specific sound systems which can project sound holograms in a listening area, enabling artists to actually play the space as an instrument.
“Our intention is to provide captivating listening experiences where sounds can range from realistic environments, to incredibly surreal electronic manipulations, and everything in-between. It’s not easy to describe in words the full potential of 4DSOUND’s technology, so we’d like to invite everyone with an interest or curiosity in spatial sound to join us at Stone Nest.”
Tickets for the event are available to purchase via the official Stone Nest website now and in other news, Daft Punk has released a new single.
