Maison Kitsuné FW23 Acquaints Prep With Punk
The French-Japanese fashion label draws inspiration from “Teddy girls” and “Eton boys.”

As the rollout of its expansive “Explore Everywhere” Spring 2023 campaign continues, French-Japanese design label Maison Kitsuné already has its eyes on next season, with the delivery of its official Fall 2023 lookbook. For the colder months, the playful fashion imprint draws central inspiration from the clash between “Teddy girls” and “Eton boys,” resulting in a range of punk-tinged, prep-first silhouettes.
With a rebellious agenda, the collection reimagines Kitsuné staples — rugby shirts, varsity jackets and polos — with collegiate stripes, regatta florals and quintessential branding with tongue-in-cheek boldness. Classic check patterns are made new with oversized proportions, while wildflower embroidery takes over the brand’s logo and daisy chains appear as printed jacquard.
Outerwear essentials put utilitarianism at the fore, with Kitsuné’s key multi-functional constructions. Among them, a clean, woolen twill pea coat exudes sophistication, and a cropped puffer is prepared to repel water.
Elsewhere, knitwear employs industry-shifting weaving techniques, and Teddy must-haves, including a black satin blouson and dark-washed denim, emerge as moody womenswear staples for the season. On several looks, the brand’s signature Fox logo is reimagined in myriad tonal colors with a graphic, linear facade.
