Ja Morant is under police investigation after he was recently seen brandishing a gun on Instagram Live.

Colorado’s Glendale Police Department confirmed to TMZ Sports that they have launched a probe and that “the incident took place at a bar in Glendale,” but did not disclose any further details.

The news arrives shortly after the Memphis Grizzlies announced that Morant “will be away from the team for at least the next two games,” missing the games against the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers this week. The athlete took “full responsibility for my actions last night,” he said in a statement, adding, “I’m sorry to my family, teammates, coaches, fans, partners, the city of Memphis and the entire organization for letting you down.” He continued, “I’m going to take some time away to get help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress and my overall well-being.”

Morant went on Instagram Live in the early hours of Saturday, where he was rapping along to a song by NBA YoungBoy and flashed a handgun.

Elsewhere in sports, Jack Grealish has signed a record-breaking partnership deal with PUMA.
