Fiorucci SS23 Wants to Enjoy a Hazy Morning
The Italian heritage brand packs comfort-first silhouettes with eclectic colors, prints and textiles.
For Spring/Summer 2023, Fiorucci imagines a peaceful sunrise. In his collection notes, artistic director Daniel Fletcher articulates a precise vision: “Perhaps it’s the morning after. Or maybe it’s the morning before. The pull of the discoteca is slowly surfacing, but for now there’s a stillness in this moment of calm.”
This sensation transpires across the Italian heritage house’s latest cuts with a fixation on duality. In its color palette, soft tones, including muted peaches, sage green and lilac, contrast bold hues, like lemon yellow, fuchsia, vibrant teal and lime. Meanwhile, prints take a more literal approach to the collection’s MO, with illustrations depicting a pastel “morning rise” motif, created in collaboration with artist Nicholas Law.
Textiles span a spectrum, too. Silky shirts pair with jersey vests donning signature Fiorucci Angels patches, while knits communicate the collection’s mood through both intarsia Fiorucci classics and crochet ensembles. Straight-cut, laser-etched denim appears next to casual jersey fabric and towelling playsuits, all of which are prepped for taking it easy.
However, when the party does start, Fiorruci has you covered. The line features a slew of extroverted looks, including a new balconette dress and a slinky black dress boasting a rhinestone neckline. For both, the brand’s satin pouch bag is an elegant eveningwear extra.
