Bottega Veneta doesn’t do branding, so its new Quadronno bag is quite the oddity.
Designed by the Creative Director Matthieu Blazy, the new accessory features various elements that steer away from Bottega Veneta’s House identity. Aside from it featuring the brand moniker printed onto the side, it’s also made of canvas — served in a “Natural” hue to boot.
Of course, leather is added for the IYKYK crowd. Here, the House’s signature Intreccio weave is applied to black leather, crafting a sort of cradle and handle uni-piece that’s knotted to hold the canvas bag in place. A final slither of leather is used to line the bag’s base, but not necessarily its entire interior — that too is canvas.
Two interior leather flat pockets and a silver-toned zipper closure round out the unusual piece. As for the name, Blazy honored one of his favorite Milanese hang-out spots, Bar Quadronno, which is known as an old fashion haunt.
