Patrick Beverley will still be playing in the NBA season this year, following a series of tumultuous trades that led him to be traded by the Lakers, only to be bought out by the Orlando Magic. Now just three days after his buy out from the Magic, Beverley is returning home, reportedly signing with the Chicago Bulls for the remainder of the season.

ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the Bulls are looking to “bring some ferocity to the court and locker room.” He adds that “Beverley’s agent Kevin Bradbury now confirms that deal is imminent.” Beverley helps to fill in the much-needed gap of having a solid defensive point guard, but it is uncertain if Beverley will be signed on to a more long-term deal moving forward. The player joins the Bulls amidst reports of Lonzo Ball suffering from a knee injury that has sidelined him since January 2022.

Beverley started all 45 games he played with the Lakers and averaged 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. He joins the Bulls’ backcourt powerhouse of Ayo Dosunmu, Zach Lavine, Alex Caruso, Coby White and Goran Dragic. The Bulls are currently 11th in the Eastern Conference behind the Toronto Raptors.
