Av Vattev's FW23 "The Privilege of Observation" Collection Is a Youthful Homage to International Artists
Paying tribute to legendary creatives Georgia O’Keeffe and Christo.
Antonio Vattev‘s eponymous label has just debuted its Fall/Winter 2023 collection, promoting the designer’s infatuation with the renowned creatives that have left a mark on his creative story. Dubbed “The Privilege of Observation,” the range features artistic motifs from legendary artists Georgia O’Keeffe and Christo, which is often seen across Vattev’s work.
Upgraded menswear is introduced in vibrant color-blocked tones and geometric patterns seen in O’Keeffe’s modernist paintings, while wavy illustrations run across collared velour pullovers and nylon jackets with shimmering detailing. Furthermore, intersecting lines collide on track tops and fuzzy maxi skirts, while angular cutouts fashion leather ensembles paired with strapped tops and jumbo-sized removable hoods.
On the other hand, Christo’s originality is reflected in traditional Bulgarian designs alongside the artist’s trademark wrapping methods, which adorn nylon raincoats, wool sets, and satin belts made to mimic global landmarks. Cableknit vests are matched with wrap-around skirts, followed by flowing leave graphics, leather outerwear, tiger maine-printed anoraks, and knitted balaclavas.
