Chick-Fil-A Introduces a Cauliflower Sandwich to Its Menu
Acting as a plant-based addition to its chicken-filled offerings.
The chicken sandwich wars have continued to take the US by storm since the battle began across fast food restaurants in early 2021. Yet, from KFC to Popeyes, casual consumers still hold their favorite establishment in high regard — Chick-Fil-A being one of them.
Although its iteration of the fried chicken sandwich is considered one of high caliber, Chick-Fil-A is entering a new sector by announcing the debut of its first plant-based meal. Made entirely from cauliflower, the sandwich visually mirrors its poultry counterpart but is assembled using the tender vegetable. The cauliflower will be marinated, breaded, and fried in traditional restaurant seasonings, served with pickles on fluffy buns.
The recipe was tested by Chick-Fil-A’s chefs over four years, working tirelessly to ensure its introduction to plant-based was a success. Before taking the item nationwide, Chick-Fil-A will test the cauliflower sandwich in select locations across Denver, Charleston, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
