The Aloha Super "One Black Eye" Channels Gonz's Artistic Talents

Mark “Gonz” Gonzales certainly knows how to dominate a board, having been at the helm of the skate scene for several decades and transforming the sport on his own terms. Acknowledged as the godfather of skateboarding, Gonz has set his mark as one of adidas‘ most fertile collaborators, constantly delivering fresh iterations of his Aloha Super silhouette.

Previously paying tribute to his chair-wrestling scene in Gummo, the athlete now debuts his latest take on the low-cut model. Titled “One Black Eye,” the sleek version channels Gonz’s artistic talents on and off the board. Inspired by his fascination with drawing and painting, the silhouette is dipped in a pale “Light Orchid” suede that runs across the pair.

Sizable Three Stripes branding adorns the medial with a black leather finish, while the skater’s cartoonish egg paintings are splashed on the sock liners and insoles. Gonzales’s grinning Shmoofoil emblem is embroidered into the circular tongue tags alongside his cursive signature and trademark face sketch that land on the heels. Finally, the pair is complete with standard gum sole units.
