First Look at the adidas Orketro 2.0
Launching in a shiny “Core Black” colorway.

Last year, adidas and the adidas Originals division managed to bolster its lineup of sneaker silhouettes with the launch of the brutalist-inspired Orketro. Dressing its intricate upper in various looks — including collaborative takes by Sean Wotherspoon and Offspring — the shoe found momentum in the sneaker world. Now, less than a year since its debut, the Orketro is evolving into the Orketro 2.0.
Arriving first in an almost colorless “Core Black,” an emphasis is placed on the new silhouette’s precise detailing. Familiar elements such as the Three Stripes reaching from the toe’s midsole to the lacing system make a return while various linework across the upper’s overlays finds new form. A glossy finish outfits several portions of the synthetic/textile build, including at the heel which now features two layers placed atop its base. An electric green hue runs across the upper and lands on the outsole in segments while additional color is provided by the midsole’s orange adiPRENE branding element, nodding to the technology’s inclusion in the sole unit.
While adidas has yet to officially announce the sequel to the Orketro, select retailers such as AFEW are scheduled to launch it on February 28 at 6pm EST. Its initial “Core Black” look is priced at €160 EUR (approx. $170 USD).
