George Miller has officially unveiled the official trailer for the upcoming prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is slated to hit theatres in Spring 2024.
Co-written by Miller with Nico Lathouris, the storyline follows a young Furiosa who is “snatched from the Green Palace of Many Mothers and into the hands of a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus. While two Tyrants war for dominance over the Citadel, Furiosa survives many trials as she plots a way back home through the Wasteland.“ The origins of the Furiosa pre-date the filming of Fury Road when Miller wrote an initial draft to assist Charlize Theron for the character she played in 2015. However, due to the success of the film, Warner Bros. decided to move forward with the franchise.
The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa alongside a cast that includes Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Nathan Jones, Angus Sampson and Quaden Bayles.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga premieres on May 24, 2024.
