Director Tommy Wirkola and action production house 87North have officially debuted the official trailer for Violent Night 2. The upcoming holiday action sequel sees David Harbour reprise his role as Santa Claus alongside newcomer Kristen Bell as Mrs. Claus.
The Universal Pictures holiday thriller sequel picks up four years after the events of the 2022 original, the sequel finds Saint Nick stripped of his festive magic and trapped inside the Silver Bell Mall. When a ruthless gangster, played by Jared Harris, takes the mall merchants hostage, Santa must rediscover his seasonal spirit while relying on raw combat to save the day. Reinforcements arrive in the form of Mrs. Claus (Bell), who enters the fray armed with katanas and hammers.
Action design for the sequel is once again spearheaded by 87North, featuring brutal set pieces with improvised weaponry including flame-tipped arrows, floor pianos, and cookie cutters. Written by returning screenwriters Pat Casey and Josh Miller, the feature pairs signature action design with a wide ensemble cast. Joining Harbour, Harris, and Bell are screen legend Joe Pantoliano, Daniela Melchior, Andrew Bachelor, and AEW professional wrestler Maxwell Friedman.
Violent Night 2 releases exclusively in theaters on December 4.
