Looking ahead to the 2027 schedule, the European leg is set for a noticeable shakeup. Formula 1 has officially announced that both Turkey and Portugal will return to the grid. These heritage-rich circuits will step in to replace Zandvoort, which hosts its final Dutch Grand Prix this summer, and Barcelona. European market growth has surged in recent years, prompting executives to re-evaluate legacy tracks that can draw massive regional attendance while satisfying modern infrastructural demands.

Beyond immediate European returns, the championship is aggressively exploring long-term market expansion across untapped or re-emerging territories. High-level negotiations are currently progressing with Rwanda and South Africa in a strong push to bring the sport back to the African continent. Conversations in South America have also intensified regarding a potential race in Argentina.
