Fendi has revealed a multi-layered collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara, the founder of fragment design, “godfather of streetwear” and this year’s Hypebeast100 Hall of Fame honoree.

The collaboration consists of two collections, one exclusively between Fendi and fragment design, consisting of various bags and a tee shirt — the other is a three-way partnership between Fendi, fragment design and Pokémon, consisting of bags, apparel, accessories and collectible digital assets for Pokémon GO.

Taking the spotlight is the three-way partnership, with Dragonite stepping up to play the main character, specifically chosen to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Additional Pokémon that appear in the collection include Dragonair and Dratini. These characters are displayed through fresh takes on Fendi’s iconic FF jacquard logo, presented in classic brown and tobacco hues and a vibrant yellow variant. This motif adorns Fendi’s famous Peekaboo ISeeU Small and Baguette women’s bags, mini icons and men’s accessories, including a messenger bag and belt bag, all featuring striking yellow contrast zips.

Beyond bags, the collection includes a range of small leather goods, key charms, textile accessories, brass jewelry and apparel. Additionally, a meticulously crafted Dragonite figure, a testament to Fendi’s leather artisanship, emerges as a collector’s item, requiring over 30 hours of handcrafting. Putting the cherry on top of the collection is a range of cross-branded digital collectibles to be made available in the Pokémon GO app.

Last but not least, fragment design has an exclusive capsule with Fendi, featuring co-branded elements but a color palette that ties it into the broader Pokémon collab. All of the collections, from the physical to the digital, are set to be made available from January 4, with prices yet to be announced at the time of writing.

“When Kim asked me to work on a project together, I had no reason to say no. I very much enjoyed working with Kim again, and this time also with Silvia. It was a true honor to work with the house of FENDI, a traditional brand with outstanding craftsmanship. Grateful for this opportunity,” shared Fujiwara on the collaboration.
