First Looks Surface of the New Balance 1906U
An updated utility-based iteration of the 1906R, slated for a spring 2024 debut.
New Balance is set to take the 1906R silhouette in a slightly new direction with the 1906U — a utility-based iteration of the shoe that acts as a continuance of experimentation with the classic runner, much like the 1906F and 1906D.
While leaked looks at collaborative pairs of the 1906U with names like INVINCIBLE and N.HOOLYWOOD appeared earlier this month, this latest example offers the first look at two inline pairs from the Boston-based brand.
These two offerings come in contrasting styles, one with a more subtle expression, dressed in a mostly white upper, constructed with technical mesh and suede panels — complemented by pastel hues of blue, pink, yellow and green at the TPU cage and outsole.
On the other hand, the second pair features more of a bold and dark approach, expressed in a grayscale color palette with splashes of vibrant yellow at the outsole and on various branding elements found throughout the shoe — it also shares the same material construction. One element that stands out on the 1906U model is a ventilated toe layer, found at the medial side of the shoes.
While an exact date and pricing for the new model have not yet been announced at the time of writing, more can be expected to surface via New Balance’s official site as we approach spring 2024.
