boygenius headed to BBC Radio 1 for a cover of country pop legend Shania Twain’s “You’re Still The One.”

The indie band’s cover remains surprisingly true to the original 1997 hit and even sees Julien Baker playing the mandolin part. Phoebe Bridgers sings while strumming along an acoustic guitar while Lucy Dacus harmonizes with floating backup vocals before diving into her own verse.

“They said, “I bet they’ll never make it” / But just look at us holding on,” Dacus sings. “We’re still together, still going strong.”

Twain gave her stamp of approval for the unique, moving cover. ““So f***ing cool,” the singer wrote on X with a link to the cover and emojis crying happy tears. “Dying.”

boygenius dropped its debut LP, The Record, earlier this year. Twain also put out a new collection of music, her sixth studio album, Queen of Me.
