RM Sotheby's to Auction Off Rare Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One Edition
One of only 40 examples globally.
As part of its upcoming Las Vegas sale, RM Sotheby’s is set to auction off a Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One edition, one of only 40 examples, with just over 300 miles on the odometer at the time of writing.
The Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One edition joins other significant Mercedes-Benz vehicles in the same auction, including Lewis Hamilton’s first race-winning Mercedes-Benz F1 Car as well as extremely rare examples of the CLK GTR Coupe and Roadster.
Introduced in 2015, the Mercedes-AMG GT quickly became a standard-bearer in the supercar world. Developed entirely in-house, it combined Mercedes-AMG’s motorsport expertise with the luxury and comfort emblematic of Mercedes-Benz. The car’s heart is a hand-built, 4.0L twin-turbo V-8 engine, available in several versions ranging from 456 to 720 hp.
The 2020 Black Series variant imparticular boasts 720 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Its exceptional performance, coupled with a well-balanced chassis and advanced aerodynamics, enabled it to set a record at the Nürburgring racetrack.
In 2021, Mercedes-AMG introduced an even more exclusive version, the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One Edition. This special edition, available only to select customers, features a unique livery inspired by Mercedes-AMG’s Formula One racecar, incorporating the brand’s iconic three-pointed star in a striking pattern and teal accents reflecting its partnership with Petronas.
During the Las Vegas auction, RM Sotheby’s estimates that the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series Project One edition will sell for anywhere between $650,000 to $800,000 USD, with bidding set to open November 17.
Outside of a host of rare vehicles, the auction is also set to offer exclusive experiences and rare items like a Tom Brady final career game jersey, Virgil Abloh Black Prism Louis Vuitton Trunk, Hermès Birkin 25 Epsom leather handbag and more.
