James Gunn Taps Nicholas Hoult To Play Lex Luthor in 'Superman: Legacy'
Playing Superman’s arch nemesis.
It looks like James Gunn has found his Lex Luthor for the upcoming Superman: Legacy. Nicholas Hoult has been cast to play the Man of Steel’s arch nemesis, starring across David Corenswet as Clark Kent and Rachel Bronahan as Lois Lane.
It was recently reported that Hoult has been the front runner for Gunn to place the titular villainous role. Gunn, who is the co-chief of DC Studios and the writer and director for the film, picked Hoult to play Luthor, known to be the industry bald-headed titan who has a fixation on bringing down Superman. Gunn also recently confirmed on social media that he has cast María Gabriela de Faría as another villain, the Engineer. Green Lantern will be played by Nathan Fillion, Hawkgirl played by Isabela Merced, Mister Terrific played by Edi Gathegi and Metamorpho by Anthony Carrigan.
Superman: Legacy is set to be DC Studio’s inaugural feature film that will relaunch the DC universe in film and TV. Recenty, Hoult has starred in Clint Eastwood’s upcoming legal thriller Juror #2, and lend his voice to play Jon in the upcoming animated film Garfield.
