MING Introduces Its First Precious Metal Timepiece

Independent Swiss watchmaker MING has just unveiled its first-ever precious metal timepiece, the 37.04 Rose Gold Monopusher, to be limited to only 20 examples.

At the heart of the watch lies the La Joux Perret LJP5000.M1 monopusher movement, reimagined in rose gold. Notably, the watch is constructed as a monolithic block of metal, crafted entirely from 18K 5N rose gold.

The design retains the fundamental structure of the original 37.04 Titanium by MING, however, it now boasts a guilloched dial produced by Comblemine, rendered in a thick piece of 18K 5N rose gold. An etched and HyCeram-filled sapphire upper dial also works to enhance the watch.

A standout feature of the watch is its luminosity, with various types of Super-LumiNova X1 making all white elements on the dial and crystals glow. Additional design elements include MING’s signature flared and twisted lugs at the case, with multicoated sapphire crystals on the front and rear.

Manufacturer Schwarz-Etienne oversees the engineering and final assembly of the watch, with Jean Rousseau and Koji Sato adding the finishing touches, including the strap and the handmade leather travel pouch sourced from Kuala Lumpur.

The MING 37.04 Rose Gold Monopusher, featuring a 38mm diameter, 11.9mm thickness and 50m water resistance, is available via request through MING’s official channels for a retail price of 48,000 CHF or $53,179 USD, with deliveries expected to take place during the second quarter of 2024.
