New Balance Keeps It Classic With the M996 Made in Japan "Grey" Colorway
Arriving this holiday season.
New Balance is getting ready for the December season with Japan exclusive drop of the classic M996 Made in Japan silhouette in “grey.”
Keeping it classic and highlighting the precision and craftsmanship of the New Balance 996, the latest iteration revisits the popular mainstay grey hue that has long been applied to many of NB’s signature shoes. Thee 996 model has been around since 1988 and has recently seen a revival in popularity under Teddy Santis’ Made in USA banner. Now, it is set to receive a Made in Japan rendition, focusing on attention to detail and the use of premium materials.
The shoe retains its classic structure which follows a greyscale color palette throughout. From the suede upper to the mudguard, midfoot and heel, where dark grey mesh can be seen highlighting the toe box and collar to give it a bit of contrast, the branding is also at a focus. The silver “N” logo is on the lateral and outlined in white to complement the white leather inner lining and lace. Metallic gold finishes the “996” branding on the tongue next to the “Made in Japan” text. The shoe sits atop a tri-tone midsole consisting of white and grey with a black rubber outsole.
The New Balance M996 Made in Japan “Grey” arrives in Japan exclusively on December 1, 2023 at select retailers and online at New Balance.
