Fashion and food have become symbiotic entities as of late, with the concept of “high-fashion cafes” popping up across the world. Following the lead of Burberry, Chanel and Jacquemus, Ami is the next to jump on the trend. The Parisian label simultaneously opened the doors to Le Café Ami pop-ups, which have landed in three major cities across China: Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu.

“Through a unique experience, in outstanding settings, [the pop-up café is] tailor-made for Chinese friends and customers,” Ami explained in a statement.

The Beijing pop-up is located at the South Plaza of the Sanlitun Taikoo Li shopping complex and evokes the aura of a traditional Haussmann-style Parisian building. Adorned with Parisian bistro chairs, sleek cylinder columns, and lampposts, the café leans heavily into the aesthetic of its hometown. A street sign outside reads “9, place des Victoires,”  the address of the Ami headquarters in Paris. The ground floor is home to Ami’s Fall/Winter 2023 collection, spanning men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories. Ami also linked up with local cafés in Shanghai and Chengdu to lay pop-up roots there as well. In Shangai, the Parisian label joined hands with local downtown cafe, Sunset +a:b, to transform its already inviting atmosphere into an Ami-esque inviting atmosphere, complete with black-and-white striped sunshades and exclusive Ami stationery products. Ami partnered with Chengdu’s Invisi café, located near Taikoo Li, and followed a similar design ethos.

All three pop-up cafes will remain open through December 8. Find the Beijing “Le Café Ami” address below.
