Five years after his Redemption LP, Jay Rock has been on a roll of putting out new music. The Los Angeles rapper has been dropping singles throughout the year, teaming up with the likes of Kal Banx, Anderson Paak, Latto and Ab-Soul.

He’s returned with yet another new single called “Still That Way.” Produced by Bongo ByTheWay, the track is a percussive, hard-hitting anthem about rising to the top and holding tight to one’s success.

“Know how I’m rockin’, you know how I’m built,” he raps. “Still in the trenches, we out in the field / If she in her bag, then it’s Prada, Chanel.”

An accompanying music video sees Rock in the Watts neighborhood he grew up in, interspersed with cuts of him in the California desert. The visual juxtaposes his childhood with his legendary status as both a solo rapper and member of the collective Black Hippy.

While Rock hasn’t given official word of a new album, with all the new singles coming out, it’s only a matter of time before he returns with a full-length LP.

In other music news, HYBE and Geffen Records debuted the new K-Pop girl group, Katseye.
