adidas and BAPE Reimagine the Stan Smith
Celebrating the streetwear brand’s 30th anniversary.
Since its 1963 introduction, the Stan Smith has been one of the most popular silhouettes in the adidas catalog. Although crafted as a tennis shoe after the former professional tennis player, the Stan Smith quickly moved from the court to the street as a casual, yet functional pair of sneakers. Now the shoes are getting a new life as adidas has again teamed up with BAPE to present a new iteration of the signature silhouette.
Celebrating the Japanese streetwear brand’s 30th anniversary, the new collaboration introduces two new Stan Smith colorways. First up is a white colorway with an embossed synthetic leather camo upper, which is crafted from 60% recycled materials. Other details on the show include gold foil co-branded details, an ABC CAMO Heel Mustache and gold ‘30th Anniversary’ lace jewels.
The second colorway appears in black with the same embossed synthetic leather upper alongside the additional camo and gold details. Completing the collaboration is a custom co-branded box.
Take a look at the offering in the gallery above. The new limited-edition adidas x BAPE Stan Smith collaboration is set to release on November 18 on the adidas CONFIRMED app and BAPE’s website.
