TaylorMade and Vessel Present the First Edition Collection
Featuring a golf bag, shoe bag and more crafted in full-grain leather.
It’s been a busy few months for golf equipment company TaylorMade, who has caused a stir by teaming up with Malbon Golf on an apparel collection, and Red Bull Racing on an equipment plus apparel range. And now just as TaylorMade gets set to unveil its 2024 drivers and woods, the brand has linked with Vessel for a limited run of golf essentials.
Vessel, which began as an OEM, is responsible for supplying many of the top golf brands and courses around the world with custom bags. It’s only been within the last few years that the Carlsbad-based company has pivoted to building its own brand, and one of the ways it does that is through collaborations.
The collection, called First Edition, is a curation of golf and travel gear which includes a golf bag, shoe bag, essentials pouch and headcovers. The items are sold as complete sets and numbered 1 through 50, so, as one might guess, they’re priced aggressively. There’s no shortage of attention to detail though, starting with the full-grain, crocodile textured leather that lines each piece.
The bag, which is based on the Vessel VLS Lux, is a lightweight stand bag with a 4-way divider meant for either carrying or riding in a cart. Key details include a custom designed top handle, waterproof personal items pocket and a velour-lined rangefinder pocket. The bag also has a special engraved metal plate on the ball pocket, the same one that’s used on the matching shoe bag, which has one main large pocket plus a smaller one meant for gloves, tees or watches. Lastly, the headcovers are crafted in the same black leather and come in driver, 3 wood and hybrid size.
The set is available now on TaylorMade’s website, priced at $3000 USD each.
