Above the Clouds Teases Three New Iterations of the ASICS GT-2160
With the color palette more neutral this time around.
Dimitri Calligeros helmed Above the Clouds has teased three new iterations of the ASICS GT-2160 via Instagram, with the caption “2024 @asics_sportstyle” — beyond that and a single photo, no other detail has been shared at the time of writing.
However, based on its last release with ASICS, we can fill in a few blanks. The three pairs, while much more subtle than the metallic and green pair released in October, feature almost identical construction. All three feature a mesh collar and heel, juxtaposed with a semi-translucent TPE midfoot and toebox.
While these three pairs could potentially be samples and change before their official release date, the teaser showed three different colorways, the first featuring tonal expressions, accented with brown and burgundy details, as well as a variety of silver accents. The second pair appears in an even more understated fashion, dressed in white mesh with various cream accents at the laces and outsoles, as well as subtle silver details. Lastly, an all-black pair can be seen, sporting the dark hue from its upper to its outsole, with only very minimal touches of dark grey.
At the time of writing, the price and a specific release date for the new Above the Clouds ASICS GT-2160 iterations have not yet been shared, however, it’s assumed that the three pairs will be released for the same price of $150 USD, based on the two brands’ last collab.
