Update: After news of a The Powerpuff Girls x Nike SB collection surfaced back in March, we now have a look at one of the collaborative offerings: a SB Dunk Low “Blossom” inspired by the show’s titular character.

Reveled by sneaker leaker @thesolessorcerer, the “Blossom” features a bold pink color scheme that nods to its corresponding Powerpuff Girl’s signature color plus orange accents that acknowledge her hair. The heel tab is then enlarged and embroidered with one of Blossom’s eyes — only the left shoe is shown in the image, indicating that the right shoe will likely complete her visage — to complete the look.

Though images of the “Bubbles” and “Buttercup” pairs have yet to be revealed, it’s likely they’ll follow the same design ethos and spotlight their respective character’s colors. Rumors have been swirling on the sneaker interwebs about the collection’s release status as well, indicating that only one colorway of the three will be made available as a general release while the other two are much more limited and will only drop through select channels.

If these rumors hold true, you can expect the collection to drop sometime in December. Read the original story below for further info, and stay tuned for updates as they’re available.

Original Story: According to reports from sneaker insiders, Nike SB is currently working on a collaboration with The Powerpuff Girls which is set to launch later this year. While neither Nike nor Cartoon Network has yet to issue an official statement regarding a partnership, the news seems timely as The Powerpuff Girls, which originally aired between 2004 to 2009, announced a reboot last year. The collab will also reportedly materialize via a Dunk model.

“So excited to partner with an incredible studio to develop new characters and stories for two of my favorite creations! Powerpuff GirlsFoster’s Home for Imaginary Friends Reboots in the Works by Original Creator Craig McCracken,” McCracken announced in July.

Apart from the animated reboot, The Powerpuff Girls will be returning as a live-action remake featuring Chloe Bennett, Dove Cameron, and Yana Perrault as Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup respectively. While originally announced in 2021, CW has decided to rework the show, seeing an indefinite delay to the premiere.

Look for more details regarding the potential The Powerpuff Girls x Nike collaboration to emerge in the coming months and note that you can also pick up a pair through Flight Club.
