Vans Skate Team's Rowan Zorilla Unveils The Rowan 2
The pro skater’s second edition to his signature silhouette.
When skate legend Rowan Zorilla first linked up with Vans to drop off the Rowan Pro in 2020, skaters went crazy, drawn to the silhouette’s blending of contemporary and classic skate styles. Now, nearly four years later, Zorilla and Vans are running it back with the Vans Rowan 2, elevating the beloved model in its aesthetic and functionality, and giving it a corresponding apparel collection.
The Rowan 2 offers a refined shape, and upgraded feel, and also boasts Vans Skateboarding’s new ImpactWaffle™ technology. Inspired by vintage court shoes, the Rowan 2 boasts a secure dual-density VR3 Cush midsole – fitted with more underfoot protection from heel to toe – and SickStick™ rubber along the redesigned zonal tread to offer enhanced impact protection and board feel. The sneaker is also accompanied by an apparel capsule, which includes: loose carpenter denim jeans, a fleece quarter-zip, a reversible bucket hat and two new graphics; the all-over screen-printed graphic pulls from one of Rowan’s personal vintage Vans tees, and the second showcases a hand-drawn Circle-V logo graphic. Expect the Vans Skateboarding x Rowan Zorilla joints to go live for purchase on October 20 at the Vans webstore and select Vans Skateboarding stockists. The retail price has yet to be confirmed.
Vans is also hosting a completely-free launch party for the Rowan 2’s release, on Friday, October 20, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at California State University, Fullerton’s Goodwin Baseball Stadium. In addition to an All-Star Skate Baseball game and an Open Skate Session with Cash for Tricks, Zorilla’s latest film Blurry will also premiere at the event – for more details and to RSVP, check out the party’s Eventbrite invite.
