After inking a new deal with Epic Records, Mariah the Scientist has dropped her first album through the label, To Be Eaten Alive.

For the Atlanta-born rapper, who released her debut album in 2019, the new record feels like it’s been a long time coming. Over her years in the music industry, Mariah’s experimentation with R&B, songwriting and composition has never failed to impress. On To Be Eaten Alive, however, the songs are decidedly more thoughtful, reflective and representative of her growth as an artist.

This particular album, her third studio effort, was preceded by “From A Woman” earlier this month. A standalone banger in its own right, the song also doubles as a tie-in to Young Thug’s own single and video “From A Man.”

Mariah and Thugger have been in a relationship for a few years and the singer noted they “had similar video treatments for two different songs that involved each other, so we enlisted the same director and voilà.”

Thug, Mariah says “is someone who supports and respects my vision wholeheartedly.”

To Be Eaten Alive measures ten songs and features an appearance from Thug on “Ride,” along with 21 Savage on “77 Degrees” and Vory on “40 Days n 40 Nights.”
