Coming off the exclusive launch at its sneaker’s day activation in Seoul, Golden Goose releases its new Marathon sneaker worldwide this month. The initial drop sees the running silhouette come in classic colorways of White, Black, Red, Royal Blue and Silver, inspired by an underlying athletic style.

In contrast to the brand’s other contemporary silhouettes, the Marathon sneaker boasts a design that draws on the past. Tailored around the sporty, track-and-field aesthetic of the ‘70s, the runner shape upper is molded to be sleek and streamlined. On the heel, a 3D-printed perforated panel is also attached to elongate the silhouette whilst imitating the dramatic look of a spoiler.

Across the main body of the sneaker, a mix of nylon, nappa leather and nubuck are sewn together to dress the upper in a palette of textures. Adding a classic Golden Goose edge, the lateral panels are then stamped with the brand’s star logo, coming in contrasting tones to the overall colorway.

Alongside the sneaker release, Golden Goose drops a dedicated collection that completes the retro athletic style in its design. Cargo pants and running shorts are met with gym-style knee-length socks, as ‘70s style windbreakers and baseball caps top off the look in tones of Silver and Royal Blue.

Take a closer look at pieces in the new campaign fronted by global brand ambassadors SUNMI and William Chan. Shop the new Marathon sneaker and supporting collection on Golden Goose’s website now.
