According to reports, several sports betting websites are now taking bets for the real identity of anonymous street artist Banksy. While gambling sites have previously tried to take advantage of speculations around the enigmatic artist’s identity in the past, this time a payout for the bets placed seems like an actual possibility.

Betting recently started up again after Banksy landed themselves in a lawsuit filed by British greeting card company Full Colour Black. Owner Andrew Gallagher filed the libel claim which could force the reveal of Banksy’s identity in response to an Instagram post made in November 2022. The case names Pest Control, the organization that authenticates Banksy’s work

Taking advantage of the lawsuit handled by the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court, BetOnline, an online poker and gaming platform headquartered in Antigua and Barbuda, is running bets with a placement end date of November 30. Leading the series bets are “Gallagher win case vs Pest Control by June 1st” and “Robin Gunningham confirmed as Bansky by 1st June,” Robin Gunningham is a Bristol man who has been previously believed to be Banksy.

Other potential betting names include Massive Attack frontman Robert Del Naja, a graffiti artist and one-time member of the collective Wild Bunch from Bristol where Banksy is from, and other artists like KAWS, Jeff Koons, David Hockney, and Damien Hirst. Along with some unlikely candidates like Tom Brady, Morgan Freeman, and Donald Trump.
