Since its inception in 2013, Chinese entertainment technology company XGIMI has emerged as a game-changing purveyor in the smart home theater projectors market. Its latest product, the Magic Lamp, proves the brand’s place: it’s a “lifestyle triple-threat” capable of transforming any space into a media room, with an HD projector and a multi-sound speaker packed nicely inside a circular ceiling lamp.

The design puts the viewer’s experience and interior aesthetics at the fore. Projectors work best on a ceiling, where wires can be hidden and people can avoid blocking the picture while moving. But while convenient, ceiling projects can oftentimes appear bulky when not in use — which is why the ceiling-light construction of XGIMI’s Magic Light is ideal.

Packed inside the sleek light fixture, the projector features 32-degree, non-destructive axis shifting, which lets users move the picture up or down within one meter. It’s important to note that the Magic Lamp is limited to a maximum 1080p resolution and 900 ANSI lumens brightness, as opposed to competitors’ 4K resolution and 1200+ ANSI lumens. The device does, however, include a Harman Kardon sound system, with support for Dolby and DTS audio.

The XGIMI Magic Lamp is presently scheduled to launch in China in 2023 for $1,170 USD, with international availability coming at a later date. Take a look at the innovative design in the gallery above.
