Meanswhile SS23 Keeps Practicality at the Fore
From waterproof windbreakers to workwear-inspired denim ensembles and more.
Naohiro Fujisaki’s Meanswhile label is preparing to debut its all-new Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
The designer continues his research into “Overprotection,” calling on similar themes presented in his prior seasonal range. The offering is undeniably wearable and utilizes technical fabrics as precautionary tools for increased functionality.
The versatile collection combines form and function through slouchy silhouettes that boast protective constructions for unruly weather conditions. Kimono-style cardigans and matching shorts receive multi-colored woven builds and stand alongside workwear denim ensembles, suited outerwear, and waterproof windbreakers.
Elsewhere, raincoats feature exposed back panels for a dissected look, while oversized trousers see foil-like sleeves and cargo pockets for additional practicality. Updated shirts, tops, and vests mutually act as layering options while also wearable as standalone garments that speak for themselves.

In other news, the New Balance 1906R is readied in a tonal “Mindful Grey” colorway.
