Ghostface Killah is putting out a new album, but in order to stream it, fans will have to be willing to shell out for a STEM player.

The pocket-sized device was developed as a venture of Kano Computing and became famous when it was used as the platform for the initial release of Kanye West’s Donda and Donda 2. Now, the founding Wu-Tang Clan member has teamed up with the company to launch his own custom device.

He’ll also become the first artist to run a “direct subscription” service with STEM, according to a press release. While the nuances of what the subscription will entail aren’t totally clear, it most likely means he’ll continue to drop new music on the STEM player even after this first album.

The STEM allows owners to isolate, chop, warp and remix songs on a given album, functioning as a handheld customization tool that invites listeners into the music creation process.

Ghostface Killah will be releasing two STEMs in black and cream colors containing songs and special audio effects.

The cream edition STEM will include 5 new tracks and retail for $240 USD, while a limited-run of 360 units of the black stem include 10 new tracks for $360 USD.

Fans can listen to “6 Minutes,” the first song on the currently-untitled album, for free for the next 36 hours on the STEM website.

In other music news, SZA released a digital SOS album with “PSA” and her “Open Arms” solo version.
