Flaneur Channels Europe’s Many Metropolitan Characters for FW23
Where modern yet enduring design details and premium fabrications merge.

When Regi Schalks and Kayo van Zoest started their brand Flaneur in 2019, its identity, like the name, was rooted in celebrating the vibrance of wanders. In their meandering movements, these personalities serve as not just observers, but recorders of culture – keeping the ethos alive of the human experience. In this same vein, the brand explores the range of Europe’s metropolitan characters throughout time for its latest Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
Titled “Somewhere in Europe,” the collection serves dually serves as an homage to the brand’s Parisian roots alongside its exploration of multifaceted style. With metropolitanism at the forefront, there’s a little bit of everything in the collection that connects to Flaneur’s contemporary design philosophy. Exceptionally wearable yet still visually alluring, the collection forms its personality through hybrid tailoring, varying silhouettes, modern yet enduring design details and premium fabrications. Tailoring stands tall through oversized double-breasted blazers, wool overcoats, relaxed trousers and hybrid suiting.
Beyond this, denim comes into play as a signature fabric via distressed jeans, wide-leg jeans, straight-cut jeans and oversized shorts. Other pieces in the collection include form-fitting printed button-down shirts, graphic hoodies, jackets with elongated sleeves and casual tees. Highlights of the collection include a multicolored artwork puffer jacket, a black leather windbreaker oversized blazers and a brown hybrid suit. Finishing off the collection is a selection of footwear, fedoras, caps and leather bags.
