The Taiwanese-American actor on how the right outfit allows him to be his best.

On the mornings when schedule permits, Sunny Wang would be sweating it out on a basketball court with his mates. The Taiwanese-American actor is a blur of motion as he practices his dribbling skills, occasionally propelling into high-flying hook and jump shots. “I feel my best when I’m moving,” enthuses Wang. “I love sports; it’s a big part of my life. I actually wanted to be a professional basketball player when I was younger.”

Dressed in the seamless Metal Vent Tech 2.0 Sleeveless Shirt and lightweight Pace Breaker Short, Wang champions absolute freedom of movement in his outfits. The smooth construction of his go-to gear follows his every twist and turn with ease, while the streamlined silhouette keeps out of the way of his athletic feats. “My clothes match my personality. I’m outgoing, always on the move and enjoy getting involved in all sports. That’s what an athlete is supposed to be.”

Off the court and off camera, Wang is a simple man with a supportive family. “My wife and daughter are my priority,” he shares. “It’s difficult to find the perfect balance, especially when you have a lot of responsibilities. Being a father, a husband, an actor, an athlete, a marine conservationist… Sometimes you just have to separate everything and know your priorities.”

Still, it’s easy to lose track of oneself when one is constantly juggling this many roles. “It’s also about downtime, when I can relax and be at peace with myself,” says Wang. How does he unwind and dissipate the stresses of life? By working out. “It’s a way to reset and recalibrate. You’ve got to refuel yourself so you’re ready for the road ahead,” he affirms.

Wang is the embodiment of movement being the essence of life. Whether it’s an explosive burst of action on the court or a quiet moment of meditation in the gym, activities that keep his body and mind in motion are the cornerstones of his well-being. “If you take care of your mind and it is in a happy place, and you take care of your body so you feel great and healthy, that transfers to everything else in life,” he explains. “It’s all about being in balance, so I can stay on top of everything effortlessly. I need to feel my best to be my best.”

For someone with an exceptionally active lifestyle like Wang, it starts with small steps. Like what he chooses to wear every day. His functional and versatile wardrobe supports his myriad movements throughout the day, performing just as well on the basketball court, the beach, on long runs, or during casual cafe hangouts. “It’s a community,” he says. “When you see someone wearing the same outfit as you, there’s that connection. Loving sports, loving nature, always on the move, achieving balance in life — these are parts of the lifestyle you share.”

The path to ultimate mind-body balance looks and feels different for everyone. The latest Your Move campaign by lululemon is a celebration of movement and well-being, and an invitation to explore physical, mental and social self-expression in endless ways.

lululemon’s approach to design is based on creating products that enable ease of movement in life, using solutions with functionality and mindful attributes like breathability, mobility and comfort.
