Assouline's 'Louis Vuitton: Virgil Abloh' Book Commemorates A Culture-Shifting Partnership

Louis Vuitton and publishing house Assouline have teamed up to produce Louis Vuitton: Virgil Abloh, a limited-editon hardcover book that celebrates the culture-shifting partnership between the late, great designer and the esteemed French fashion house. Spanning 359 pages and containing over 320 images, the book is a rich, in-depth testament to Virgil Abloh’s influence on Louis Vuitton and the culture of fashion as a whole. It’s also the first book on the designer to release since he succumbed to a rare form of cancer on November 28, 2021.

Written by Anders Christian Madsen, a fashion critic and writer at British Vogue who assisted Abloh with past projects like his Manifesto, the book also includes personal reflections from those in Abloh’s inner circle, like Nigo, Kendall Jenner, Kid Cudi and Luka Sabbat. It’s split into eight chapters, one for each collection Abloh released while at the helm of Louis Vuitton.

Two covers have been produced for the book, one that displays the characters from The Adventures of Zoooom with Friends, a key piece of the memorable Louis Vuitton SS21 collection and another that proudly showcases the red balloon that flew above the Louis Vuitton SS22 runway in Miami. Each is priced at $120 USD, and there’s also a limited-edition “Ultimate Collection” book that’s packaged in a special box inspired by the container installation from LV’s SS21 menswear show in Miami. It also includes a clamshell in printed silk with foil stamping and is priced at $1,200 USD. All three options feature the same interior content.
