With each iteration of Paris Fashion Week, a surge of revitalized energy and newfound creativity come to play. For 3.PARADIS, this PFW represented a newfound opportunity to expand its house codes with the debut of its womenswear collection for the spring/summer 2023 season.
Set at Paris’ Cédric Grolet Opéra, the runway show presented a refreshed take on the brand’s signature design styles and motifs. The collection came to be through overcoats, bomber jackets, black dresses, ruffled skirts, tailoring, graphic denim and t-shirts. Whether it be a women’s black ankle-length skirt or a men’s sky blue suit with all-over designs, the brand’s signature dove motif is seen throughout every piece. By continuously incorporating the dove design, the new collection expands the brand’s exploration of freedom, unity and hope.
“A natural evolution in the brand’s mission of inspiring freedom and unity to everyone 3.PARADIS encounters,” said creative director, Emeric Tchatchoua. “Our intention has always been to design from an explorative place, using the world around us as inspiration. When I look outwardly, women are a reflection of life, women deserve ‘paradis’”.
Womenswear highlights include a lavender suit featuring a knee-length skirt with a white dove hem, a black all-over dove dress and a white and gray ruffled jacket that channels the movement of wings. Key menswear pieces include a dark denim coordinating set with light blue dove detailing and light wash denim with an all-over white dove print. To fully encapsulate the new season’s meaning, 3.PARADIS set forth this poem:
A bird would talk with anyone kind enough to listen
its knowledge of the free world at once would glisten
as if the sun that shines and gives lovers light
in our world where children laugh from miracle’s might
the bird would chirp and dancers sway,
rejoice! gather! and unite, here and now!
with so much to celebrate, make, and create, the bird would say:
people play, have fun, and pioneer peace today
there isn’t yet another way, please understand this from May to May
hope like a wishing child, and see PARADIS appear each and every day.
