UPDATE: Official images of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Metallic Red” have surfaced. This bring-back bears a noticeable difference in its construction as the overlays adjacent to the throat have been updated with tumbled leather. It’s a detail that gives the kicks more texture in a subtle-yet-striking way. The kicks are expected to release via Nike and select retailers on July 6, 2023 for $240 USD.

Following the release of the COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS x Nike Air Foamposite One last year, Nike is now set to bring back its “Metallic Red” colorway for Summer 2023, as first reported by Complex. With Foamposite releases few and far between as of late, the rare re-release is dressed in bold “Varsity Red” molded uppers with wavy vertical ribbing.
Black smooth suede panels stretch over the eyestays and Penny Hardaway’s “1 Cent” logo decorates the padded heel and tongue tabs. Additional details include striped pull tabs secured on the tongue and double-stacked heels. Rounding out the design are icy semi-translucent outsoles secured via black carbon fiber plates.
