ISO.POETISM by Tobias Birk Nielsen has recently unveiled its latest collection for the Spring/Summer 2023 season during Copenhagen Fashion Week. Titled “IMPOSTRIAL MONOLITHS,” the collection furthers the brand’s signature utilitarian design cadence.

This time around, creative director Tobias Birk Nielson tells the story of a sculptor and his relationship with the craft. From battling imposter syndrome to showcasing his love for sculpting, the story details the reality of creation as a way of combating doubt. Bringing this story to life are polyester jackets and matching cargo pants, vests, sweatshirts, shorts, dresses, vests and more with technical-focused fabrications.

By centering technical and utilitarian garment styles, Nielson’s collections consistently have a contemporary feel. Like usual, the garments also feature outdoor-ready qualities showcased through varied fabrications, waterproof capabilities and asymmetrical design detailing. Adding another layer to the clothes is its design palette that features shades of slate gray, olive green, white and sand alongside technical camouflage prints.

What brought this season’s unique design prints to fruition was a dataset formed by an artificial intelligence program using archival collection images. Chronolocing the brand’s first collection to the most recent, the dataset utilized over 500 pictures to craft a unique array of 300 abstract images.
